Fit could be improved

19. July 2020

I have been suffering from epicondylitis on my right elbow since October 2019. After all kinds of treatments (injections, medication, ultrasound, stretching exercises, etc.), all of which only brought short-term relief, I decided to try out the brace. I have been wearing it for three months now. However, only during the day. At night it is somehow too much for me. There has been an improvement. Without the support, I could hardly do my gardening, let alone carry anything heavy.

Still, I would have hoped for something more. Unfortunately, I also have some difficulties with the fit. My upper arm is clearly too narrow. So the upper part folds down very quickly. Unfortunately, the Velcro strip is also useless. It scratches terribly. It is also too thin. I have now glued in the padding from my previous bandage. Nevertheless, the upper part only holds when I pull it very tight. Overall, the support could be a bit more flexible and flatter. Now in summer, you sweat quite a lot under it. Maybe my review will help you improve the product, because despite everything, I wouldn’t want to miss it. Although it washes well and dries quite quickly, I would also like a darker colour.

Response from Masalo.co.uk

Hello Mrs Treutler, thank you very much for your valuable experience report. Unfortunately, you have not yet sent us any photos of your arm with the cuff on – but we are quite sure that we could optimise the application together and you would then be even more satisfied with your cuff 🙂 Often it is small measures such as moving the forearm cuff towards the hand or slightly tightening the upper arm strap that lead to amazing results and better sensation, wearing comfort and greater relief. Nevertheless, we are happy if the cuff helps you – we will be happy to assist you and accompany you on the way to healing. Thank you for your experience report and continue to recover well!

A Nobel Prize for this invention would be appropriate!!!!

16. July 2020

A year ago, I decided that 45 was a good age to start playing tennis. So I went to the court with my husband and was very impressed with my skills – I hit every other ball over the net without any technique. I thought I was so talented that I wanted to prove my talent every other day – who needs training and technique! So I was surprised when, after a few weeks, my arm started to hurt so badly that it got worse every time I played. The coach from the club was less surprised – he had watched me several times during that time…. I thought he was watching me because I looked so fancy in my little skirt…. Instead, he was wondering all the time when my arm was going to give out because of the strain.

From then on, the classic tennis elbow horror began – sometimes it got a little better without strain, until I was moderately ambitious doing housework or untalented performing “Für Elise” on the piano at the family party – painful for ears and arm. I gave up my promising tennis career and from then on did everything with my left hand… which, by the way, was occasionally entertaining for others at dinner!

After it got worse and worse, I started using the typical treatment methods. A good friend of mine is an orthopaedic surgeon, so at least I didn’t have to pay for shockwaves, blood therapy and tapes – which didn’t change the fact that the procedure was so painful that the only reason I didn’t smack the friend during the treatment was because it’s rude to do so. Of course, in my desperate search for salvation, I also stumbled across the Masalo cuff on the internet – but since our orthopaedist friend didn’t know about it, I chalked the story up to “all fake reviews” and money rip-offs. You know how it is: if you type “hair loss” into Google, you get 1,962 pages offering salvation for a measly 377.55 euros a month, and Chantalle and Gisela from Euskirchen praise the product to the skies in their reviews!

So I discarded the cuff and the pain got worse – analogous to my mood! When I lay awake at night again because I didn’t know which way to bend my arm, I searched around on this site again and the next day I went to the medical supply store in Cologne in a last flush of hope. The purchase of the cuff turned out to be a bit complicated. The specialist put the cuff on me and squeezed my arm as if she were trying to shape a sausage, only to tell me helplessly that unfortunately it didn’t fit me and that she couldn’t sell it to me. When I asked why and that I had a perfectly normal arm, she said that my arm was somehow too short – but her colleague, who had been called in, thought it was clearly too long… At some point it was agreed that the proportions of my arm were simply not right. That was probably easier than saying: We just can’t put the thing on because we have no idea!!!!! I bought the cuff anyway and watched the instruction video at home – and now I finally come to the evaluation:

Unfailingly, from the first second, I found that this orthosis simply does me good!!! The lady from the shop warned me not to wear it at night, but as my confidence in her expertise after the experience was unfortunately no higher than in the Tonnies abattoir, I simply wore it for 24 hours as recommended here. That was a few weeks ago now and I woke up completely pain-free at night for the first time after three days. I was so happy that I couldn’t fall asleep anymore and I was so excited that my husband was pitching awake! Every day I added new movements that I could never do pain-free a few months ago! I might need a new family, though, who are starting to get seriously annoyed when I demonstrate for the hundredth time, whooping and with a happily contorted face, how I get a bowl out of the cupboard with my right hand….

Dear fellow sufferers: buy this cuff – it works on a completely different principle than those clamps that do nothing!!!!!! I have to admit, I don’t have the slightest idea which one, but the inventor Mr. Röder obviously knows and that’s the only important thing!!! I am COMPLETELY pain-free and only wear the cuff when I am under stress.

For those who still have doubts that these are real evaluations, I will gladly send you my MRI results from January and videos of the last few weeks in which I play tennis for hours on end – however, that would be embarrassing, because I still play badly, which is not due to my recovered tennis arm, but simply to my lack of skill!!!!.

Thank you Mr Röder, thank you to the super nice team!!!! You have restored my quality of life and saved some people their professional existence… if this were my invention, I would probably be 2.24 metres tall with pride and play basketball instead of tennis!!!!

THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Response from Masalo.co.uk

Dear Mrs Zillekens, very special thanks for this wonderful report 🙂 It is really fun to read 🙂 You have an unusually great and refreshing writing style. You really have a way with words, if you can do the same with tennis, there’s nothing standing in the way of Wimbledon and Davis Cup 🙂 I’;m glad you’ve kept (or rediscovered) your sense of humour. The story with the medical supply store, however, is very unpleasant. Fortunately, you helped yourself, but you shouldn’t expect that. If you go to a medical supply store, you can expect competent advice, but that was not the case with you. Thank you again for this information, it is important for us. Of course, you should wear the cuff 24 hours a day if possible, so that the tendons are permanently protected. Also at night. My assumption is that the “specialists” at the medical supply store did not look at the instructions and persistently tried to somehow achieve conventional compression. Of course, this should not and must not be the case with our cuff. However, this is one of our biggest challenges, to get the experts to notice that there really is a new principle of action here (but it is also somewhat understandable, after all, there has only been the compression principle for years, always the same, no matter how expensive a bandage is or what it looks like…). We have already contacted the medical supply store and hope that our information will now be read and implemented. We already expect our specialised trade partners to deal professionally with our product, the way it works and how to put it on. If this will is not there, no one is forced to sell our product. Our primary concern is that people get well again and benefit from the cuff. That is why we are always happy to offer our support to anyone who has bought a cuff, regardless of where it was purchased. Thank you once again. We hope you continue to enjoy your tennis and if there is anything you need, you know we are here for you 🙂 Kind regards Harry Röder

Interesting experience

8. July 2020

I had golfer’s elbow on the right 10 years ago. Cortisone only helped for a short time, shock wave therapy and a long break without sport worked after about 1.5 years.

Now, about 1.5 years ago, I contracted golfer’s elbow on my left arm through bouldering and light weight training.

Many stretching exercises and regular breaks have brought relief. But every time I bouldered or climbed harder, the pain was strained.

Then I let go of the Masalo M. Before it was delivered I had been climbing for two days before, of course with slight pain. Then climbed with the cuff, the same route and no pain. Really unbelievable.

Unfortunately, I then had to carry 40 kg up to the third floor and that’s when the pain potential broke out again. In the meantime I’ve been wearing the cuff for about 2 months and bouldering regularly. Conclusion. It really does reduce the problem, if I wasn’t so sporty the golfer’s elbow should have disappeared by now.

But the information about the possibilities of using it for sports while at the same time reducing the pain convinced me. And you should have patience anyway.

I would also like to praise the sympathetic and competent advice given over the phone.

Response from Masalo.co.uk

Hello Mr Zimmermann, thank you very much for your review. It is really nice to read that you are fully aware of the overall problem. Unfortunately, we epicondylitis sufferers are never quite sure that the problem will not recur. You just tend to get it because you move through life quite actively. But now everything should be possible again. If possible, always wear the cuff as a preventive measure during heavy exertion, and the rest of the time it should remain completely pain-free without a bandage. I wish you all the best and lots of fun with bouldering 🙂 Best regards Harry Röder

Really convincing

5. July 2020

I have had the cuff since March 2020! After just one week, the pain was much better! Since mid-June, I have only worn it during heavy exertion. The cuff is worth every penny.

Dr. Thorsten Gerdes

Response from Masalo.co.uk

Hello Dr Gerdes, thank you very much for your feedback. Short and to the point 🙂 Everything worked as it should. You are doing absolutely the right thing, just always have them within reach and if there is ever any heavy strain (also at work), put them on as a precaution. I wish you all the best for the future and enjoy your regained quality of life. Best regards Harry Röder

I am very satisfied

19. June 2020

I have been wearing the cuff every day for half a year. At the beginning, I also wore it at night because the discomfort during sleep was extreme. Now I have to say I only need it for work. The pain is almost completely gone. You notice a clear change as soon as you put it on for the first time. I was prescribed a compression sleeve which caused more pain than it helped. So… Conclusion. This cuff is absolutely worth the money.

Stefanie Kühnel

Response from Masalo.co.uk

Dear Ms Kühnel, thank you very much for your report and the time you spent on it. We are really grateful for any feedback, especially because we know that nowadays you are really forced to give reviews, but you don’t really want to do that all the time. You don’t go to the bakery, buy bread and post a review on the door the next day that the bread was delicious 🙂 However, these reviews are extremely valuable to us, especially because they always contain information that can be important for other people concerned. Please continue to wear the cuff for a while, so that it doesn’t flare up again. If it does, put it on again straight away and wear it constantly for a few days, then you will always have it under control again quickly. I wish you a nice weekend, if you have any problems, please do not hesitate to contact me. Kind regards Harry Röder
